Instant Survey for Political Reform Debate 2010Back
To fulfill its social responsibility, the Public Opinion Programme (POP) at the University of Hong Kong conducted an instant survey during the TV debate between Chief Executive Donald Tsang and Civic Party leader Audrey Eu on June 17, 2010, in order to track people's appraisal of their performance during the debate, and people's support for the policy reform package. The findings were first released and used by media sponsors, including electronic, written and online media, of instant survey. During the debate, the media sponsors continuously received statistical updates. After the debate, the media sponsors received many more cross-tabulation in-depth analyses, which were embargoed for publication until 3am. POP considered the arrangement has balanced the interests of all media sponsors. 48 hours after the debate, all survey results were disclosed for public consumption via this website. This survey was partly co-sponsored by Cable TV, now Broadband TV, RTHK, South China Morning Post and Apple Daily. POP hereby acknowledges their support with thanks. Users of these findings are requested to cite the source appropriately when re-printing or quoting these figures.
