Public Opinion Lectures and Workshops
In order to increase the knowledge of the general public on opinion studies, and to lift the overall professional standard of the local community, POP has conducted many public opinion lectures and workshops for the local society, which introduce the operation of opinion polls, the interpretation and misuse of opinion data by the media, the appropriate ways of mastering public opinion, as well as the interactions between society and public opinion. |

Opinion Research Projects for Secondary School Teachers and Students - CDRom copy (19/8/2002)
Funded by Quality Education Fund, POP conducted the "Opinion Research Projects for Secondary School Teachers and Students" in 2000, for students and teachers of local secondary schools. By practical experience, this project aimed at increasing the knowledge of the participants about opinion surveys, as well as developing their ability to evaluate news reports in terms of their accuracy. This is an online version of the project handbook, which collected survey reports of the winning teams, important speeches, guidelines for sampling surveys, as well as some photographs. |

Code of Practice
This proposed Code of Practice was publicized by Robert Ting-Yiu Chung, Director of Public Opinion Programme, at the Conference on "Reforming the News Media in Hong Kong" on January 26, 1999, jointly organized by the Centre of Asian Studies of the University of Hong Kong and the Freedom Forum Asian Centre. This proposed Code lists out a number of responsibilities born by opinion researchers and media in conducting and reporting opinion surveys, in order to enhance the overall professional standard of the industry. |
