In September 2011, Hong Kong Infant and Young Child Nutrition Association commissioned the Public Opinion Programme (POP) at the University of Hong Kong to conduct this “Survey on Infant and Young Child Feeding”, which targeted at Cantonese speaking mothers in Hong Kong who were raising at least one infant of 36 months old or younger. The main objective was to understand the views and attitudes towards various aspects of breastfeeding among the local mothers of young children.

The survey questionnaire was designed independently by POP after consulting the Hong Kong Infant and Young Child Nutrition Association, all fieldwork operations, data collection and analysis were also carried out independently by POP, and POP would take full responsibility for all the findings reported herewith. The survey methodology and results are open to the public.
