HKU POP releases ratings of Tung Chee-hwa,Anson Chan, and Donald TsangBack

Press Release on May 03, 2001

As Donald Tsang has succeeded Anson Chan to become the Chief Secretary For Administration, the Public Opinion Programme at the University of Hong Kong today updates its record of the two persons' popularity ratings at its website called the "HKU POP SITE" (address: http://hkupop.pori.hk), along side with that of the Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa.

Anson Chan's ratings have been collected for seven years since April 1994, while that of Donald Tsang for four years since April 1997. Because Donald Tsang was promoted from Financial Secretary to Chief Secretary For Administration, he will remain a target of our programme's regular rating surveys, so would the new Financial Secretary Anthony Leung. Our research team would be pleased to answer any question regarding the research design of these surveys, but would not comment on the result of these surveys. Such an arrangement would be reviewed when we have more resources.
