while their satisfaction with the two disciplinary forces covered in this survey remains very positive, with very low dissatisfaction rates. However, although people's satisfaction with the Hong Kong Police Force has remained high, it has significantly dropped from its record high registered 6 months before. People's satisfaction with the PLA's Hong Kong Garrison, on the other hand, has fluctuated around 60% in the past two years, and no significant change is depicted over the last two surveys. R

As for the two disciplinary forces, there is not much change in people's satisfaction of the PLA, while a significant increase is registered for the Hong Kong Police Force, with a satisfaction rate of 82% which is record high since the survey began in July 1997.

HKPF and PLA are two entirely different disciplinary forces, each serving its own functions and duties. Direct comparison may, therefore, not be appropriate. However, figures show that both forces bear a good image, which should have a positive effect in maintaining our social order and protecting the sovereignty of our nation.
