  28-Jun-99  相對而言，市民對政治環境及法治狀況的評價則沒有像經濟及社會環境那樣負面。於回歸第二年度中平均有四成三被訪者認為當其時之政治環境較回歸前差，而認為跟回歸前差不多者則佔平均佔三成二。不過，對政治環境持較差評價的被訪者比率無疑依然是較回歸後第一年度高，於回歸首年度平均只有三成四被訪者持此看法，兩個年度平均數相比，第二年度明顯亦高出九個百分比。相對而言，法治狀況相信是市民最有信心及滿意的一環，於回歸第二年度，平均有四成七被訪者仍然認為現時的法治狀況與回歸前相若，而認為比九七前差的則平均佔三成三。但同樣地逃不過評價轉劣的命運，原於九七回歸後首個年度，平均有五成半被訪者認為當時法治狀況與回歸前差不多，持此意見者比率於九九年上半年急劇下降至四成，反而同期有另外的三成九認為法治狀況較過渡前差。換言之，與對政治狀況的評價有相似之處，市民對法治狀況持較差的評價，始於九九年上半年，極有可能與今年上半年就港人內地子女居留權問題的討論有關。

  Dec-97  就市民對政治、經濟及社會環境的滿意程度方面，總結九七年全年數字，發現市民對社會環境的滿意程度最高，有五成被訪者表示滿意，不滿的有二成七，一半半有二成二。就經濟環境而言，表示滿意的有四成八，不滿的有三成三，一半半的有一成七，不滿程度為三者最高。至於政治環境，滿意與不滿意的比率較為接近，認為滿意的有三成七，不滿的有二成七，而一半半的則有一成八。若同樣將九七上下半年的數字分拆看，不難發現市民對三項環境的滿意程度在下半年均有明顯下降的趨勢，對政治環境的滿意程度由上半年的四成半下降至下半年的二成九；對經濟環境的滿意程度由上半年的五成六下跌至下半年的四成；最後，對社會環境的滿意程度由上半年的五成九滑下至下半年的四成。可見市民對九七下半年各方面的環境均不大滿意。
In respect of political, economic and social conditions, the level of satisfaction in social condition was the highest in 1997, with 50% respondents claimed satisfied, 27% claimed dissatisfied and 22% said half-half. Concerning the economic condition, 48% respondents were satisfied, 33% were dissatisfied and 17% said half-half. The level of dissatisfaction in economic condition is the highest among the three conditions. Regarding the political condition, 37% were satisfied, 27% were dissatisfied and 18% said half-half. When one makes a comparison between the results of the first and the second half of 1997, it is quite obvious that the level of satisfaction in all these three conditions has experienced a drastic fall. The level of satisfaction in the political, economic and social condition dropped from 45% to 29%, 56% to 40% and 59% to 40% respectively.  
  Aug-97  八月份，市民對北京中央政府的信任程度達到新高，不信任程度跌至五年來的歷史低點。不過，市民對香港政府的信任程度似乎又每況愈下，對政治及社會狀況的滿意程度比回歸前普遍下降…是特區與內地的距離拉近了？還是未來發展的契機？
By August, people』s trust in the Beijing Central Government has reached a new height, while distrust has fallen to a record low in five years. However, people were not very satisfied with the current social and political conditions, and faith in the local government has further fallen. Is the gap between Hong Kong and mainland closing? Or is it just another turning point?  
  Mar-97  回顧過去五年，政治環境幾乎一直是市民最不滿意的一項。在九五年四月之前的調查顯示，市民對經濟環境較為滿意，但在此以後，市民對經濟環境的滿意程度降低，而社會環境則成為市民最滿意的一項。
Over the past five years, the political condition was always the item with which people are least satisfied. Surveys before April 1995 show that the public were rather satisfied with the economic condition. However, that rate decreased over time, and the social condition has subsequently turned out to be the item with which people are most satisfied.
