This on-line page is to facilitate both local and international potential participants to register for the conference. If you want to registrer for the conference, please fill in this electronic form, in additional to other procedures required, like sending a registration form to WAPOR by fax. Please note that conference registration is not complete until notified by WAPOR, and both WAPOR and HKUPOP are neither responsible for any registration for hotels and university lodging, nor registration for any tour. WAPOR is solely responsible for conference registration, and HKUPOP herewith only provides a gateway for all kinds of registration. HKUPOP does not collect any payment related to the conference except for the optional tours on behalf of the travel agent.

** The conference fee includes WAPOR membership for the year 2006, but participants can opt for not joining WAPOR in spite of paying the full fee.

To sign up for your membership, please download and fill in the membership registration form from http://www.unl.edu/WAPOR/New%20Membership.pdf, and the membership structure can be downloaded from here. Please return it to WAPOR directly or to us in Hong Kong during the conference.

NB: Registration includes Welcome Dinner, Lunch and Dinner on 9 December, Farewell Lunch, Tea Receptions, Admission to the Conference Sessions, and one set of conference papers. Paper presenters who wish to apply for financial subsidy should write to Ms Kitty Chan at [email protected] directly. The amount of subsidy would be decided on a case-by-case basis, and in any case depends on how much sponsorship HKUPOP can finally secure. There is no guarantee that any subsidy would be available.

 ACCOMMODATION :
We have three recommended choices for your accommodation, each with its own registration procedures. Please either download the registration form and send it directly to the hotel, or just fill in the registration form below, as the case may be. HKUPOP would relay your information to the appropriate body, and help you make the booking. Final confirmation would be a matter between you and the hotel or college concerned. Please check the hotel and college websites before booking, they are of very different standards, and provide different services. If you prefer other choices, please make your own accommodation arrangement.

Registration is entirely optional. HKUPOP is collecting registration fees on behalf of the travel agent. In case too few people register for the tours, they will be cancelled.
Local tour (10 December 2005 afternoon) - Hong Kong half-day visit HK$950.
Macau and China tour (11-13 December 2005) - Macau and Zhu Hai two days visit HK$1,350.#

NOTES FOR TOURS BOOKING:
  1. Payment must be made in Hong Kong dollar. All bank service charges are to be paid by participants.
  2. Please send the cheque or bank draft by mail to: The Public Opinion Programme, Room 804, Meng Wah Complex, The University of Hong Kong, Pokfulam, Hong Kong. You must indicate names of participants and organization on the back of the cheque or bank draft.
  3. Registration will only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment, on a first-come-first-served basis.
  4. Tour fee is subject to change, depending on hotel prices in December. If the hotel fee has increased, participants will have to pay the difference before a tour begins.
  5. If a tour is cancelled, participants will be notified immediately, and the cheque or bank draft (full payment) will be returned to the participants during the conference.
  6. Please book the tour on or before 30 October 2005.
